  • 1 piece DS ?

Sorry, new to V6 f-bodies. Had a 2K SS prior to owning this 94 Bird. So heres the question, I see alot of guys talking about 1 pc DS's for thier v6's is this an easy swap? why do the V6's have a trwo piece DS anyways.. or am i totally off base and its only lt1's, ls1s that have the one piece??

V6s have two-piece shafts to reduce vibration... they will snap if you put serious torque through them, though. You can find steel 1-piece shafts very easily (and cheaply) from junkyards. Aluminum driveshafts are a good buy if you can find one at a decent price.

So long as it's balanced, replacing it is very easy, the procedure should be in your haynes or Chilton's.

lol, I've seen a few trwisted alum ones, looked like a can was torn in half, thanks though, i guess that means the switch from a 2-pc to a 1-pc is bolt on??

yes, itll take about an hour, even if its your first time. there are a total of 6 bolts to take off for the two piece, and for of them you reattach for the one piece. other than that, its simple.

Some V6's came with a 1 piece steel d/s mine did. I'm currently looking for an LS-1 d/s as they are aluminum and are much lighter.. ;)
