when I was driving on the express way today I noticed a noise coming from the rear end. Its a low pitch rumble that occurs when im cruising, when i first touch the accelerator or when i let off the accelerator. if im accelerating, Its not there. Im hoping this is all it is. the differential is brand new from jegs as well as the 3.73 gears. they have about 1000 miles on them. I gave them the proper break in time, so I hope its nothing to do with that. The u-joints pretty old though.

Its probably your gears wine.. Is it only there when you are cruising?? When you let off the gas does the noise go away??Jeff ..

yes. it goes away when i let off the gas. Its more like a owl sound.. hoooool.... Thats your Pinion Not properly shimmed.. Its only when you give it gas and put a strain on the rear..Nothing is going to happen just your gears are going to wear out faster..Jeff ..
