hi i have a 1999 firebird with an open carrier right know i was wondering which of the 2 carriers do i want
Limited Slip - Also known as Posi. A limited slip rear is just like it sounds. It has limited slip. Power is transferred through a series of clutches that transmit power to both axles (wheels). The clutches allow slippage during turning, otherwise the car would hop. This carrier can be identified by a series of clutches and springs.
Torque Sensing - Acts as an open rear as stated above, but when 1 wheel starts to spin faster than the other, a series of worm gears lock both axles together allowing absolutely no slippage, similar to the Ford's Traction-lock differential.
