Transgo install

Hey all, as we speak my transgo shift kit i bought from greenglow on the board is being installed. Ill let everyone know how it went tomarrow when i get it back!!

The kit comes with all stages...just depends on how you install it. I love mine too...you should think about upgrading to some billet overdrive servos while you are at it.

are you sure? greenglow was selling it and said it was the stage 1 kit. do ALL transgo shift kits come with the means for all stages? the dude at the trany shop didnt ask me what stage i wanted either... and the box didnt come with a corvette servo or anything.... hes installing it without dropping the tranny

Does one of those stages allow you to control shifts like a ratchet shifter??

Or is there a ratchet shifter available for our a4?

i duno, the guy was like, "you know this kit is going to allow you to throw the car into 1st while going 90".... and i was like......"ok".....and he was like....."ok just so u know".... and i was like "ok"..... and then i left. i gues this thing lets you select gears like a manual?? just without the clutch... so like 1-2-3 will stay in 1-2-3 (whjichever u choose) and if u put it in dive, it will be an auto again.

The stage is selected based on the number of spacers you install. One spacer is soft, two spacers is firm, and three spacers is hard shifting. This is explained in the instructions that come with the kit. I can't remember if there is anything else that set the stages but as far as I remember that's it. Please somebody correct me if I am wrong. I had mine installed in a shop.

well ****.... i go there (first the car was supposed to be done at 12 but then he talked about 2 new parts, corvette servo, and plastic piston) so i was like ok fine, he says its gona be done at 5. so i run around like a ****ing crazy person trying to ship crap/deposit money so that the check for shipping doesnt bounce and have to do all this crap in 30 min before his shop closes, then i go back to work, have my dad halt his work (company is under LOTS of stress andhes the friggin president so if it sinks or flies its his responsibility and things arent lookin too good) so he takes the time to leave, we get there (i even called them like 10 minutes before to tell them that i was on my way its was like 4:40) and they didnt bother to tell me what they told me when i got there, apparently the transgo shift kit i got was like for the wrong car or somthing.... greenglow sold it to me and said it was for his 98 so it should work right?! i mean same friggin tranny, whatever he said somthing about he gaskets not fitting and having to order new ones (the old ones say CA and the new one in my car said VB) so hes like ill need it overnight AGAIN . i was supposed to ****ing take my girlfriend out to dinner for out 7 month anniversary and then we are going to a concert but now i have no ride, wtf am i going to do now. my dad had to go back to work so maybe i can snatch a company Astro Van yea im sure my date will LOOOVE that. ****ing tranny-whore he ALSO asked me if i was having any 3rd gear problems before the shiftkit and i was like no...why? and he said "well the car wont shift into third gear now and i dont know why...." and then i was like well whooop-dee ****ing-doo. he also said somthing about screwing up a solenoid? i didnt want to listen to anymore problems or i might have taken off his head... so now it seems as though my baby with 30k miles and perfect internals has tranny problems and i dont know what to do about tonight... tickets cost me 85 bucks each to see shania twain here at the savemart center... i am NOT going to ****in miss the concert because of this dickwad...oh yea and heres the cost list so far:

and now i dont know what hes going to charge me for the new gaskets and all this ****ing ****. i mean, if the parts werent correct then he should have been able to tell me from the get go right? or am i going to have to pay this guy 350 bucks JUST to put my transmission back to the way it used to be and NO shift kit?! WTF

$50 for corvette servo?? Thats too much.
