where is a good place to find either good used axle shafts or a decently priced new set?

Hurry Up! Go to ebay and enter "camaro axles" and then try "camaro axle" in the search box. There is a pair of axes for a 2000 camaro (28 spline) that don't have a bid on them yet, and they are still at $1.00.
I'd put the links here, but I still can't access this site through AOL. I'm going through internet explorer and I can't interconnect them.

wow... that would be a deal except shipping is almost $65!!!! also, one axle has a busted stud. anyone know how they are attached? are the studs welded in, or can I just knock the broken one out and replace it w/ a new one?

Yeah, the s/h is a bit much, I didn't scroll down that far to see.
Yes, the studs are just pressed fitted in, and you can hammer them out while the axle is in your hands. I reinstalled them tapping them in with a hammer, and after the axles were installed and everything was bolted back up, I tightened lugnuts on the studs to seat them back inplace.
I replaced all of the studs when my axles were out, just as an insurance backup.
