  • 2series carrier and lsd?

Currently I have 3:08s and and open diff. I dont have the money for a gear change, but I can do the lsd myself. The only problem is the Zexel LSD is a 3series carrier. Can I get a LSD where I wont have to touch my gears? If so, what brand/model/$$$? Thanks guys

Do you find you have traction problems with the 3.08's? It seems like wasted effort until you have money for the gears( i bought mine used for $50)... with my 3.08's i couldnt' spin if i tried :(

    Just something to think about...

Auburn Gear makes carrier PN 542041 which should be correct for you. Distributors all over and you can go on the web to find location near you, as well as checking on PN and year.

by the time you pay for one of these units you might as well do the T/O zexel torsion and gears. a new auburn unit will cost 400+ im betting.

The Auburn LSD is much stronger then Zexel one you got to consider if you want more strenght for more money.

zexel torsion is rated to 500 ft lbs of torque i believe. when you snap that, you upgrade to a 12 bolt rear end.

thanks for the replies guys. I was hoping there would be some alternative to the Auburn unit since it is so pricey. For that cost I'd just go with the Zexel and 3:42 gears. I guess I'll just have to save to get my LSD so I wont be one legging it.
