I had my Torsen installed yesterday- the installer said that the new diff didnt have a provision for the ABS reluctor ring! Does that sound right? I thought all F-bodys with a Torsen as original equipment came with ABS? If not, what did SLP send me anyway? Is there any other way to get ABS back without going in to the diff again? Thanks.
Also, is it normal for a newly installed Torsen to whine a bit at highway speeds? Thanks.

not sure on the V6 rears, but i know the V8, have 2 options, 3 or 4 channel abs, 3 channel is in the carrier, and 4 is at the end of the axles.
Since you got it from slp, and its a V8 takeout part, hope this info can help you.
Ryan.

Just had my torsen installed 2 weeks ago... the abs reluctor ring is a separate part you need... slides right on the torsen with a couple of taps with a mallet...
Did you have the ring? 30$ part from GM...
Regarding the whine, mine whines a bit, not loud though, and only when i decelerate... a certain bit of whine is normal according to my mechanic... if it's annoying, the gears maybe not be offset right, or the diff may need to be re-shimmed...

Thanks for the replies. Is there any difference in the differential between the 3 and 4 channel ABS, models? I doubt they would re-engineer an entire differential just to make one work with a reluctor ring....
Thanks all. And yes, he did screw up. It's leaking from the pinion, it's going back in the shop monday and they are fixing it for free. And this shop is supposed to ONLY do F-bodies....
