  • Where's the governor?

Anyone know the location of the governor on a 700r4? I've heard you can access it by simply removing a cover, is this true.

Yes, you can acess it from a cover, but you can't take it off, becuase its around the output shaft before the overdrive unit.

Can you access it enough to change the springs and weights?

Yes, you can use a B&M or another brand of governor weight kit. The governor cover is on the drivers side, about 10 inches from the back of the tail housing.
