  • Lock up switch for Edge Converter?

I was told to put in a lock up switch to lock up my converter and it would help out a bit. Anyone have any opinions on this?

I would like to know which wire to splice into and are there any driections on how to make one of these? Does anyone sell one that just plugs in?

      Yeah who told you that.

When would you lock it, close to the top of each gear? Are you talking about making a switch that automatically locks the torque converter, or one that you have to flip each time you want to lock and unlock it? If you are talking about the second option, it will help you on the dyno.

I tested it, it gained me NOTHING at the track, I tested it so many ways.

I'd only ONLY use it for the dyno.

Excess lockup switch use can cause damage to the converter clutches as they are not built to be locked up under load at WOT.

I dont want it for the track.....i just want it for the dyno for more accurate numbers.

Anyone know where I would splice into for it?

I would also like to know how to do this, detailed instructions would be great. What if i dont have this switch and i get the car dynoed, will they still be able to tune the af if i dont have a lockup switch? If you just ease the gas while on the dyno and wait till it hits third then hit the switch and floor it how will you get a correct hp tq reading since you didnt floor it from the get go? If i go wot from the start and then hit third and hit the switch just a few times will this blow my converter apart?

i read, that for the 3rd gen f-bod's you splice into the data port, the top left and the top right wires, but i dont know if it will work on the 4th gen, i assume it will? here's a link...

I think its very weird that someone here has done it to a fourth gen and wont take two minutes to tell us who need to know.
