• Jet SCU 200 and hard shifting

I have been in touch with Jet lately because I do not believe that the SCU 2000 can work for us due to the way our cars are programmed. I would like to know if anyone else has changed their gears from 3.08 to another ratio and experienced hard shifting resulting from an erroneous tranny code(P1870) you transmission will through since it will now "think" it's slipping. Customer service at Jet tells me that they have had no other such complaint, but I'm sure they are out there. Please feedback and let me know the year of your car and the changes you made.

Yea your right you did try to tell me. At the time I thought I had every thing hooked up good though. I really appreciate your help big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt have done it without your help. The car is awesome now! It feels like every mod Ive done just woke up. My powerband is simply amazing. I know people are gonna think I m exaggerrating but Im not. The car is a beaste now! Today My car did things I thought it would never do. Example I usually cant even spin my tires. And when I can its pretty sad.... Today I was churping second like it was easy. I even chirped third going up a hill. My gears switch right before 6k. Is that bad? My powerband on second gear hit so hard that the car shifted to the right and I had to regain cotrol of the car. I was actually a little scared to floor it cuz with my best quarter of 15.9 Im not used to that kind of power. Dont get me wrong Im not tyying to imply that a jet scu will give you an extra 50 hp or anything... I know it dosent give you any hp. But what it did do for me was put me in the correct rpm's to receive my engines maximum potential. And I feel that this is the best mod I have done. No more getting to 3rd gear at the track and barely moving cuz my rpm's are to low for me.

The Jet SCU2000 works fine and dandy. Are you sure youre not thinking of the B&M shiftplus or something?

i got rid of mine after the 1870 code. i sent it in and they "fixed" it, sent me a new one and it didnt shift hard anymore. it just didnt change the shift points so it would hold the redline for 4 mph in 1st and 8mph in 2nd.....

needless to say, afer about 6 months i finally sold it and picked up a Y87 comp and was immediately happier.

This is the kind of feedback I need to argue my point with Jet. They tell me they have sold over 300 of these and have had no such complaints such as a false P1870 code. Their best suggestion was that there is something unique about my car's PCM that is causing this to happen to me alone. This is why I need this survey to argue my point with them and to get them to improve this product or at least make it compatible and to keep saps like me from spending over a grand fixing a tranny problem that didn't really exist. Your feedback will help many others from endless frustration and possibly empty wallets. I should ad that my theory is that this problem effects 98+ year models. Thanks for your help everyone.
