RK Sport Driveshaft

I have an '01 Firebird with the one piece driveshaft, is it worth it to get this one? Is the stock one not strong enough?

it will be lighter since its aluminum. quicker revs.. a little more power to the wheels...


but then again this is what i heard... i have a 2 piece still.. but when i get my 1 piece aluminum Drive shaft ill let ya know

LS1 DS is almost the exact same thing. Keep checking for sale sections and you can pick one up for $100. Speedauto has used ones for $150.

How do I tell if I have a one or two piece driveshaft? What do the 02s come with?

edit: no, too expensive. but i think it's worth it to get an aluminum DS at a cheaper price.

Shirl ran a 12.9 with the stock 2-piece. is that strong enough for you? i think the main concern here for our V6's is the weight and not the strenght of a DS.

there are several places to get aluminum driveshafts, rksport for $300, 1LE for $212, LS1 for $100-150, and custom driveshaft fabrication cost varies. there is also a carbon fiber driveshaft made by ACPT that weighs only 5 lbs. and is $700. This last suggestion may be a bit extreme unless you are already running w/ all the botl-on's out there as well as nitrous or heads/cam.
