I was driving, decided to punch it half way into first. I get to about 4k rps, push the cluch put it in to second(so i thought) released the cluch and gave gas. But right when i gave it gas, it grinded the Poop outta the gears. The sec i heard the grind, i let all the way off gas and pushed in cluch. Then i looked at my rpms and the needle was just leaving the first red zone.
1st, wtf happened
2nd did this hurt the car bad? I seems to be running fine. no weard sounds and i can shift fine. The engion was still preaty cool when i happened (5 min after i left)
Is there some things i should look for?
Im scared

Either you didn't put it all the way in gear though you thought you did
OR
your 2nd gear synchro is going out :(

doubt its #1, but if its #2 try to go easy on 2nd gear for a while. I know that sounds stupid, but if your synchros going out and you continue to grind (over a period of time) it will just get worse and grind every single time you try to shift into 2nd.

I know cause thats exactly what my tranny does. First it probably started out from me missing shifts (careless mistake ), then it grinded when I downshifted to 2nd, and now I almost always get some kind of clunk if not a full-out GRIND from it when upshifting or downshifting. I'm no tranny expert but this is just my 2 cents.
