If there is any it's very little. I owned 2 aluminum driveshafts both from LS1s. One was from 99 next one I got from a 01. Both worked. Aluminum DS was an option before 99 on 1LE cars. 99 and up the aluminum one became standard on all V8s with higher then 2.73s gears. Could they be using the same exact one? I'm not sure.Comment

There's no difference on the '99+ cars. 99+'s all use the aluminum DS, the same one as used on the 1LE cars. '98 saw the last year of the steel 1-piece, since some '98's experienced driveshaft vibration at speed (there was also a TSB for this).
