I am looking into getting a new converter. I want more off the line power but I am not quite sure how these converters work. Now say I go with a 2800 stall, does that mean my car will not move until I reach 2800 RPM's? Or is it only when I put the hammer down is when it waits to launch at 2800 RPM. With normal driving around town were you puch the gas lightly would the car still wait till it revs to 2800 before it moves?

It will move before the stall, just not as much. The higher the stall the more gas it will need to move. Stall speed is usually where it will flash to when you hit the gas hard off the line. More correct term is flash stall.
