I just received my Pro 5.0 and it says "Camaro / Firebird 83-92" on it. Is it the same shifter for the third gens as it is for the fourth? Are they the same transmissions?

Also, I see two stop bolt things that seem to be adjustable and stop the shifter from moving too far back and forth. How do I know where to adjust that, or are the setting out of the factory good enough. Is it crucial that those are in an exact spot? Can you hurt something by setting those wrong?

Also, when playing around with it, I notice the when the stick hits the stoppers, it makes a metal on metal click sound. (because its really just banging into it) Does that get annoying with you shift?

Im pretty sure mine said that too (about the years). It should work fine. The way you adjust the stops is by putting it in first, then srewing the screw in till it touches the shifter, then backing it out a turn, and tightening it down. Then check it in 3rd to see how it is. Then do the same in 2nd and 4th. I think some people take em out all together, but i did it this way and it works good.
