93's used the 4L60 (no E cause it is not electronic) which is basically a 700R4. 4L60 has a TV cable and is not controlled by the PCM(93 used a ECM=engine control module where as 94+ uses a PCM=powertrain control module). You will probably have to switch to a 93 ECM if you do that cause you current computer will think there is something wrong with the tranny when it tries to change gears and can't.
thanks i know it will hook up in the car but my ? is will the computer run it? does the moderator of this section know anything about this anybody?

Well, I don't know what to say man. I mean my friend has a 1993 Z-28 and he has the 4L60-E. I know this becuase that same friend called a dealer about the trans. and they told him that he had the 4L60-E (don't know if there is any difference between the Z and the 6). I never knew that any of the 4th generations came with just a 4L60. Just thought that I would tell you what I have heard.
As far as knowing every year it's hard to say. I tried to locate this info once and couldn't find it. I know that there were many changes made so I wouldn't risk getting another year transmission. For example 00V6 is way different then 96V6. 94LT1 is different then 95LT1. Electronics must hook up on top of the physical hook up. Manual trans didn't change so much, but auto did. Check with a good local transmission shop.
he told me now that he can send me a 93 computer will that fix my problem and work with my car?

Not that you are wrong about what the dealer said, but the dealer might be wrong. I have seen a number of times that the 93 LT1 used the non-electronic trans. The 93 LT1 was a speed density system with no MAF sensor, like the 3.4L setup. In 1994, the LT1 went to a MAF setup and the electronic trans. There were some pretty substatial differences from 93 to 94.
Here is a post about many of the 93 differences on CamaroZ28.com. Post

Im not sure exacly how to hook up the transmision, but i would say it would be better to get the 4l60E it came with. the chiltons manual states this "Many new transmissions are electronically controlled. On these models, electrical solenoids are used to better control the hydraulic fluid. Usually the solenoids are regulated by an electronic control module."
