    what are the gear ratios for the M5 and the A4?

    (read: not rear end ratios)

    The only thing I can help you with is that 3rd in the A4 is 1:1 and the 4th gear in an M5 is 1:1

      I believe the A4 is 3.06, 1.62, 1.00, 0.74. Now as for the M5 I don't really know sorry.

          that can't be right...at least not for the cars after that year...because first gear at 25 mph in my car reads 4000 on the tach...if that thing is right, i should only be putting about 3000 rpm down...and i KNOW my tach isn't off by that much...

          EDIT: that seems about right though for SOME cars that got a 3.42 rear end ratio...however on my 3.23 car, a 2.95 first gear will do 49 mph before redline...and i KNOW i can't do that...
