Alright i was coming home from work tonight and i saw a twin turbo supra a decide to see how fast these little suckers were....wrong story. But as i was getting my *** handed to me by the Supra i got off the freeway and began to here a low sounding whining noise. Now i have had this little sound problem in my 67 SS when i blew out the rear end.now it is really low so i dont think it is to serious yet.... If it is the rear end i am going to go with 3.42's and an LSD. Now my budget is $800 so lets subtract $250 for labor and that leaves me w/ $550. I have a credit at Jegs of about $300 so can i get the Richmond gears and installation kit they sell. I know Richmond isnt the best but i am on the budget due to the fact that i just spent $1500 on rims. Now the LSD i can get from SLP for like $125, right? All info is appreciated, thanks.....

All the gears cost close to the same. If you want I have 3.42 GM Motives I'm trying to sell for $165 plus shipping. They are brand new. There is a good chance Richmonds will be noisy. If you want to use up your credit, add a few bucks and get GM Motives from them. You can just let the shop that's installing it buy what it needs. Chances are they probably won't touch that install kit you give them. If they do gears then they have all the parts they need.
