i was told it was bad to put lower gears on a higher mileaged car, my car has around 95k on it, i wanna go 373s is this true what ive heard

I'm no expert but IMO the only reason they could have is with 3.73's or 4.10's you put more strain on the transmission shifting more often. With the high miles they're probably assuming it's going to break soon anyways. I wouldn't really worry about it though. My car has 84K miles and I'm tossing on a turbo, posi rear with 3.73s, and a high stall tc. Maybe some of the [img]graemlins/bowdown.gif[/img] fbody guru's on here can help you out better.1998 A4 Pontiac Firebird

I have never heard that before. I do not see what the mileage of the CAR has to do with the choice in gears you put in. Could they have been talking about the mileage of the gears your putting in? I suppose higher mileage gears not installed correctly are more prone to unwanted noise.
Are you an A4 or M5 916Topherv6?
