put it in 5th then back into reverse.. and you can't possibly stall out trying to go into gear just hold the freakin clutch.

then you installed something the wrong way if your clutch won't disengage....

are you sure it's not disengaging? did it start as soon as you put the clutch in or a little afterward? are you having trouble with any gear other than reverse? is the clutch making any noise? we might be able to diagnose it better once you get that stuff out of the way

Same questions here. Just a possiblity but it can also be the slave cylinder.

Start with the simple stuff first"

What about all the other gears; can you easily get it into gear all them (with the car started)?
Did you get all the air out of the hydrolic lines? If the clutch petal is soft or very easy to push in, then you might not have gotten all the air out of the line.
Are you sure you did not put the clutch on backwards (don't laugh it's easy to do if you do not pay attention, does not really match your problem though)?

Bad synchros are a possibility but if they were good before he pulled the tranny out then they should be fine going back in...

Just from your discription it sounds like you need to bleed the hydrolic line more....
