Who repreogrammed their 3.4 Auto after gears???

I am looking into purchasing a whole rear end form a 95 Z with the discs and 3:42 from a local junk yard for $270. MY QUESTION IS I HAVE AN AUTO, HAS ANYONE GOT REPROGRAMMING FOR THEIR SHIFT POINTS AND IF SO

3. I WENT FROM 3.23 TO 3.73 AND I LOVE IT. THE ONLY THING THAT SUCKS IS CRUISING AT A LOWER SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY.

I do not believe you need to worry about shift points either. I did not have a problem with mine...

was the speedo thing hard to do?

before you change your rear end , check the gear ratio of the trans . it starts in 3.06 and second goes al the way in 1.68 i guess so all automatic v-6 dies a bit in shifting to second
try to chanch that second gear for a 2.12 or closer for a more stronger second shift and if it is a daily driver leave the rear end 3.23 for gas milaege if you can aford the gas go 3.73 now

I still havent changed my speedo after 5 months of having my 3.42's i guesss i just dont feeel like spending 100..

It's very easy to install.

I changed mine for 2 reasons:
1- I don't like guessing how fast I'm going.
2- You're putting more miles on your car than you actually are. Speedo says 100 but you're going 90, thats 10 extra miles... it adds up to quite a bit after a while.
