• Rough 1st to 2nd shift

I'm after installing my converter and shift kit but I've noticed the 1st to 2nd shift isn't as smooth as it used to be. I have an automatic. When she swithces gears there's a noticable jolt. Whats the problem? Thanks

No, I know what a shift kit is and what it does but what I didn't realize is that it would make such a big difference!

How many washers did you install in the 1-2 accumulator?

Ohhhh!! The famous washers. I am glad I found out about the washers just before I had my shift kit installed. I installed two (stage 2).
I hope you knew about the washers. Did you?

No, but I had a mechanic install it and he was familiar with shift kits. So this jolt is normal then?

ok yea the washers... i went to tranny shop to ask him about the TCC valve fix. and was asking him that since hes alreayd working on it if he would be able to install a shift kit and vette servo. and he said that i shouldnt bother with that and install springs or something i dunno what he was talking about.. but whats with the washers i wonder if he would know about them.

Yes....its the most notable sign of a shift kit.
