hey this might already be posted somewhere but i couldnt find it. i was just curious to hear some 1/4 mile times before and after gear upgrade. also to you guys think that 4:10's is too steep for a 3.4 v6? i have 3:23 right now and i can get a 3:42 plus lsd rear axle for 250 and install it myself. however the 4:10's are only 300 and i was thinking that would be alot quicker off the line but i think it might kill my top end.

yea 4:10s would be way to steep and to much for your 3.4, 3:42s are nice all around, good acceleration, and you still have good top end with them as well.

thanks for the advice guys, i am gonna have to look into doing a complete rearend swap, because that is how it comes, should be easy except for the new disc brakes, i asked a friend and he said all i would need is a proportioning valve.1987 Buick Grand National drivetrain in my 1993 Pontiac Firebird. What about 3.73s?
I have 3.73s in my car and they are not too much gear at all
My top end was not hurt either... car pulls harder in every gear like it should. Only thing limiting my top end is horsepower LOL<b><a href=\"http://members.cox.net/95batmobile/d86f.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Sinister Six©</b></a><br /><a href=\"http://www.sounddomain.com/id/95batmobile\" target=\"_blank\">My \'95 Bird</a><br />I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.

Every time I try to get together with friends at the track they all cancel :(<b><a href=\"http://members.cox.net/95batmobile/d86f.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Sinister Six©</b></a><br /><a href=\"http://www.sounddomain.com/id/95batmobile\" target=\"_blank\">My \'95 Bird</a><br />I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.
