  • question for billet plus owners

On mine, it seems like there's an awful lot of front to back free play when I'm in gear. Could someone measure how much free play there is, at the knob, in 3rd or 4th? With the car stopped, of course.

Thanks. I'm worried there's something really wrong.

how long have you had it installed?
I have had the 2 bolts that hold the handle to the base come loose and it feels like there is alot of play.

you need to check that asap, locktite works wonders in that situation

if you have play then it's proably not in the shifter but in the transmission..

also if the handle is good and tight to the base the next thing to do would be to remove the whole shifter from the transmission and check the little plastic sleeve the bottom shifter ball thing fits into, if it's worn out (and they do over time) then that could cause play also

I would be willing to bet the problem is the first one I mentioned though because it sounds just like what mine did..

Brad had it nailed, loose lever bolts.

I cleaned the threads, applied blue locktite, and torqued the bolts. Problem solved.

      Thanks, Brad.

Must be very common, same problem arose for me ... definitely a job for blue loctite.
