Do you have to let the clutch way out to get it to engage. That was the first sign with my wifes saturn. Any sort of acceleration also got a nice slipping feeling, but mostly in 1st.

the test: put the car in high gear and mash the gas. if your clutch is REALLY shot you will know.

when my clutch started going bad it wouldn't grab until about 2 seconds after i had disengaged it. it happened most frequently at the track or on 3/4 to WOT positions.

When my wifes was really gone I could sit and not even use the clutch....just press the gas and it would go...very slowly and only in 1st. Only had to go a few miles to the garage luckily.
