I just got off the phone with SLP and they said that i should of replaced the bearings on my LSD before installation, BC the LSD was in a box??

Has anyone heard of this? Everyone that has swapped out one of these did you replace both of the bearings on the new lsd?

I didnt and know i think im in trouble.

I didn't but do check for wear on your bearings inside your rear differential when you take the old LSD out.

Don't know what the box has to do with it?

I pulled mine out of a WS6, same thing. It only had 2K miles on it, I didn't have a shop press at home OR new bearings, so I just used the ones on it. I've put at least another 10K miles on it, raced hard on it, no trouble at all.

I just used what came on it, but I feel that the replace the bearings speech is given to EVERYBODY who orders. Might be liability or something for them.

I looked them over real good and they seemed fine, so I just used what was on there. No problems with it.

4 years and 50k miles on my SLP take-off Zexel LSD and all I did was pull out the old carrier and throw in the new.
