Supposedly, we can lock up our converters after we get out of 1st gear(in auto's), and gain 2-3 mph and .1-.2 in the 1/4 from it. A switch can be used to turn it on before the launch. the converter can never lock up in 1st, so it'll do nothing, and launch normal, then when it hits 2nd, it stays locked like a Manual transmission car w/ no loss, and stays locked thru the shift into 3rd and 4th. Has anyone done this? has anyone gotten any gains from it? has anyone broken their lock-up mechanism because they did this?

No.. its pointless for our cars on the track, you might benefits from more accurate dyno readings but thats about it.
If you lock it up at the track you will loose ET I gaurantee it. Our cars just don't make enough power to gain from it.. when you lock it up you bring the RPM's down too much and it just bogs the motor...
Locking the verter up will damage the clutch at WOT unless you have one specifically designed for a higher HP engine with tripple disc lockups.
Try again at finding a mod...
