Just kinda curious....(did a search) is it adviseable to get gears installed...or is it easy enough to put em on yourself....ive taken gears out in shop class....but its been a while and i dont wana screw things up....btw how off will my speedo be if i get 3.73's?
Edit: just got quoted at 225 for an install (should i get a lsd while im at it?)
Unless you really know what you're doing, I would leave it to a professional.
Yes, you should get an LSD when you do that...and depending on what gears you have now, you may have to get it. We can't really tell you how far off your speedo will be if you don't tell us what you have now. ;)
Edit: I just noticed you want a Spec Clutch, so that means you've got 3.23s. You don't have to get a new diffy, but I definetly would.
You can go to hawksthirdgen.com he may have some LSD's, if not go to www.scfyb.com and go to the members list and PM zeeya. He could get you one and ship it out to ya. I got a LSD with 3.73's from him $100 shipped. Granted they are used, but VERY slightly. He won't screw you over with bad stuff! He can also install them for around $150, but he is in Myrtle Beach, SC, so I think that's out of the question, lol
Stephen Cruikshank

Selling some stuff so all I have left is the FRA, !MAF Screen, whisper lid, Holley PowerShot, 3\" catback, and 160* thermo on the car

I Practice Street S.M.A.R.T.S. - do you?

I paid 120 to get my LSD put in. So it should be less for just gears because the LSD is all the way in the back.
What? You have to take the diffy out to swap the gears. Diffy comes out, pinion gear comes out, new pinion gear in, swap gear on diff, install diff, check alignment, remove diff, adjust, etc. Installing an LSD is simple, an install of gears will cost more because it is more difficult.
