• Will it still work ok with B&M and hypertech?

i am gonna get a hypertech for my car and i was wondering if i get a B&M shift kit if it will work better then just the hypertech. i can do the shift kit myself and i just wondered if they would work really well together or if i should just get the hypertch and that's it? are you talkin about the B&M electronic shift kit?

i am not 100% sure, so dont go totally off of what i say, but im pretty sure that the hypertech and b&m electronic shift kits are to mess with the shift points to optimise a stock transmission. so i would say one or the other.

id do the hypertech over the b&m electronic one, cause supposedly that thing messes your trans up.

no it's something that goes inside your tranny and it reroutes your fluid flow or so i understood. i'm already getting the hypertech but i was wondering if the two together would make my transmition better or if i should just stick with only the hypertech. anybody else know? thanks Ian for your input. sometimes it seems i don't get much help from people when i need it. anybody who helps it would be much appreciated

When you are programming with the hypertech it gets to a point where it asks you if you have a shift kit installed....if you press yes then it skips over the hypertech messing aroudn with your shift firmness and what not...if you press no then hypertech will take over. Im almost 100% sure thats how it goes. I was in the market for a hypertech not to logn ago...a week ago acctually...but decided to get headers instead and hope they make a programmer for a car with more mods than just minor intake and exhaust work. Anyway...in short...I dont think they will work together in that aspect. It will be one or the other taking over.

Hey, after you get the hypertech in, dyno it with and without the programming...I'd be curious to see what you gain. Not a lot of people acctually give numbers so I have no clue what normal gains would be...just curious. Best of luck with it.

Hypertech's programming to me is almost worthless. The rest of its abilities are cool but if you want programming get a shift kit and a MAFT+.

I will but it will be a while until i get the money to get it. about a month or so. then i'll trailer it to the dyno shop and dyno it. i dynoed it once already and it dynoed at 186whp and 228trq. and i checked with a Tech 2 and the computer was not messed with. that's stock.well with exhaust and intake. but that's it. i'm hoping to see 200 with it and a high flow cat. wish me luck guys. i've heard from buddies of mine that the hypertech worked very nicely in their cars and from some guys here hopefully it works. Hope you hit that 200 mark...doesn't seem to far off. Hopefully the hypertech and cat will get you there. I know some guys get 10-15 from just the hypertech...the cat will just be icing on the cake. Good luck man.
