ok, going from 1st to 2nd... if i shift from about 300 RPM b4 redline, i literally have to wait for the tranny to slow down to go to second, otherwise it grinds.... BAD.... i know this cant be normal. so whats the general opinion? Synchro's ? time to change the Lube?

I'm having the exact same problem. A rebuild could cost 300-500 so a new trans is the best option. Search on Ebay, there is some salvage yard in FL that has like a half dozen of them.Current Mods: SS Rims, CPR Boxed LCAs, Whisper Lid, SLP Underchin Ram Air, Pro 5.0 Shifter, 235/60/15 BFG DRs, Monster Tach w/ shift light, posi w/3.23

Future Mods: Ultra-Z hood, 4.10s, Y-pipe back exhaust, !CAT, Battery Relo, Custom programming

I doubt its your syncro, its probally your blocker ring for 1st-2nd.
Blocker ring lets your gears move into position. It slows down the shaft so your syncro can move into posistion. Its not slowing stuff down so thats why its grinding into gear.
Blockers rings are 1 of the 4 things you always place in a tranny rebuild.
If your shifter was popping out of gear then it would be your syncro.1999 Pontiac Trans Am M6 Far from stock.....
