  • Question about changing tranny mount (the setup of the work place)

I'm gunna be changing my tranny mount here in a couple hours, wats the easiest way to do it? basically i'm gunna follow the guy on installuniversity.com but would it be ok to put the front end on stand then jack up the rear and put that on stand too? the only ramps i have will not fit under the front of my car enough to allow the car to ride up them.

one more question, is it possible to change teh tranny mount with jsut the front end suspended or do i need both the front and rear suspended, b/c i only have two jack stands and no ramps that will fit, so wats my best bet?

Also, is it ok to prop up the tranny on the tranny pan, b/c i dont see any other place to put it.

jack the tranny up using your car jack(w/your spare tire), and put it on the tranny near the slip yoke in the rear.

You WILL have to drill the crossmember.

Dude, its not a hard job. Should take you like hour and a half, two hours tops. I think its 7 bolts total: 4 for the X-member, 2 for the mount, and 1 that holds the mount to the cross member.
