  • Z28 Rear End

Hey guys whats up. I was wondering if anybody new where a good place to find a rear end (3.42) from a z28 or T/A, prefferably 2000 newer, in the St. Louis area? If not any good tips in places where to look (Besides junkyards). Because having 3.08's is a horrible curse and i'm trying to fix it.

i got my rear end from tennessee auto parts. I can't remember there website offhand, but go to google or yahoo and type in tennessee auto parts. Mine was 300 plus like 90-100 to ship it, but shipping depends on location as well. Try them out.

I would try local junk yards first. Also, local race/speed shops might know people, locally, who have swaped out for stronger rear ends. I would start with those before you try out of state options.

i don't know how much luck you will have aside of a junkyard. as they said, check locally... V8 cars are always getting smashed up but the rear ends are for the most part salvageable; you just have to be careful about abs/traction control interfaces. the place i go to just got two wrecked TAs, one with 3.42s and another with 3.73s.

if worse comes to worse, just use the good old boy network or your friends. somebody always knows of somebody who has the part you want
