  • Ever have your clutch pedal spring break?

A while back I was driving along and I heard a spring break under the clutch pedal. All of a sudden the clutch became much more difficult to press down. For a while I liked it but I think I'm going to have to finally replace it.

Anyone have this happen? If so, did you fix it?

Oh yeah. Happened to me once already on the TA. Searching the V8 boards, it's a common problem over there. I don't know how much a V6 one would be, but the V8 spring (most likely the same) is like $35 or something ridiculous. Maybe try to get one from a junkyard?

Mine was replaced under factory warranty.

Mine broke off at like 12,000 miles, I heard a pop as I was pressing down on the pedal, and it hit me in the leg. I took it to the dealership and they said they didnt know where it came from but everything was "in proper working order" and they conveniently lost the broken spring. 43,000 miles and I dont think i feel anything different... Its a pedal return spring right? Ehh I dont much use the clutch anyways.
