yes i have searched but no one has giving me a clear answer so im just making sure i have a 99 firebird without traction control and its an auto i knwo that the auto v8 have no higher than 3.23 and i want 3.42 with an lsd so what well work can i get a 98-02 manual v8 rearend without traction control and bolt it right up to mine or do i have to modify some stuff let me know also is there anyway to tell what rear is out of an auto or manual thanks
p.s. anyone know of a good place in dallas to pick up one
The rear is the same, if you have 3.23's your not going to notice any difference going to 3.42s. You will enjoy the LSD however. You can purchase this from a place like summit or jegs, or you can buy it from a V8 thats being parted out.
Or the best place to get it is buy from a v8 guy who broke an axle and plans on buying a 12 bolt. That will probably be the easiest way to get one.
