you guys do realize their are two different bolt patterns the t-5 could come with, right?

viper that adaptor wont bolt up to your bellhousing, even if it did the stock t-56 input shaft would be too short

**if some one could tell me the leingth of the T-5 input shaft i could be of more help**

I already talked to the people that do that adapter plate and it will bolt up. That isn't the kit I am going with at this point anyhow so it doesn't matter either way.

Stock input shaft from a T5 is almost 6.25" from front of tranny to tip of shaft.

Ok ,Ok,.... how worthless would a 6 speed be in our V6s?

Come on. Of course it can be done, anything can with cars, but how useful would it be? Not very.
I have a V6, it gets me around town

Well, I for one am tired of cruising at 3k rpms at highway speeds just due to gear changes. With the T-56 you could run 4.10's and still get awesome highway milage. Plus a 6-speed is a hell of a lot cooler than a 5-speed

You want to know what\'s on my car? Tough luck!

Plus, the T5 transmission won't hold up to enough of a nitrous shot that I will be running. The T56 will. As far as the 4.10's, that is my game plan also...in our cases it would not be worthless at all.

I disagree, i've got a 4 cylinder back home with a 6 speed .... its definately beneficial on the highway, and it really just helps with the overall power distribution. If anyone decides to definately do this, keep us updated... i'm curious.

What this is going to come down to is one guy trying it and passing or failing the final installation. There are way too many mathematical and or physical ways of looking at it, but it has to be someone with the time, the money, and big ol' balls to try it.
I'm keeping my eye on this to see if someone had done it and made it work. I have the money for it, maybe the time, but no nuts to attempt it.

Right now, it is the fact that the input shafts from the 94-02 T56s are too short to fit our bellhousing. The C5 input shaft IS long enough though and it is 1 1/8" X 26 spline shaft. The only thing now is to get the input shaft($330) and install it in a 94-97 T56 which is easier said than done. Right now, I do not even know if the C5 input shaft is compatible with the internal parts of the 94-02 T56. I would assume that is, but I don't know for sure. I am also calling Tremec today to see how much a custom input shaft would run that would work with the 94-97 T56. I will let you all know the results.

Not yet....last week was tied up with quite a few installations so I didn't get to call. It's on my "to-do" list for tomorrow.
