The best thing for us is the CenterForce Dual Friction clutch. I have one and a few other members have them. I can't say anything bad about this thing! well... I take that back... I can't keep my tires planted on the ground now with a high RPM launch :D

I personally can't and will NOT do a clutch install..... something about them that never goes in right. So, I would suggest having someone do it for you.

I think that Centerforce is about the only way to go w/the 3.4, since noone else seems to make a clutch for it.

I did the centerforce dual friction clutch. I bought it from jegs and yes the price was killer. I also bought a slave cylinder just for the hell of it. I drive a 3.8 so I dont know if there is a whole lot of difference. I did the entire install my self as did camaro_zach if I am not mistaken. Its not really that bad. I would recomend doing it yourself as you will be dropping mad cash on the clutch.

i think the throw out bearing is like 22-40$ , ill get that aswhell, but if im gunna do it myself, dont i need a lift? or cna it be done with just the car on blocks?

OH... and while the trans is out... have them check the rear main seal. It's like a $20-30 part, but well worth it while the tranny is out. So you don't have to worry about it later on.

my rear main seal has been leaky since day one, so good point, ill get the replaced also.
but sttill, you think this might be something i could do myself w/o a lift?

Unless you like to benchpress tranny's and swear all the time... I would let the pros do it :D

Plus, this about if this is your only means of transport. IF something goes wrong... you don't want to be without it too long. This is why pros get paid... for mistakes and to fix them.

OH... again... don't forget to have the flywheel resurfaced. This is a MUST!

resurfaced? like what? grind it down? so most shops that that by default or is it a mod?
hehe

and i wasnt gunna do it myself, was guinna have a buddy help, its hard to swallow the 290$ labor.

i talked to the mechanic and he said that it shouldnt be a huge job, hardest part is just moving the tranny back in..

Come on steve! ;) the clutch install isn't the monster that everyone makes it out to be. Our trannies are very light too, I thought it was gonna be like lead but its quite managable. my first time took me 3 hrs to do so a pro with lift and air tools should at least do 2 hrs. good luck
