  • Few Rear end Questions

I just got A camaro and I have a few questions....I tried to search but nothing came up.......I noticed on the dash there was a light that said Trac Control.......I know that means Traction Control....but what does it do?.and my other question.....the camaros rear is stock so would i be able to leave 2 strips power braking? I guess what im asking is is it posi?(sorry im used to fwd cars all this high power rwd stuff is new to me....my car right now before the camaro gets registered and insured is a ford escort.so its two totally diff machines)

Well, it depends on if you have Y87 or not. If you got the Y87 package, you will have LSD(Sorta like Posi but newer stuff) so, you will be able to leave 2 tires marks doing burnouts.
I think Traction Control just puts on the ABS brakes.

Y87 will be listed as a RPO code on the edge of your driver side door. It will say Y87 on there somewhere, which would mean you have 3.42s/LSD, if you have GU4 you should have 3.08s. These are all the RPO Codes. Does the light on your car say Traction Control, or low trac?? I get a light that says low trac when I brake and slide, like on ice, and the ABS has to start pulsating to keep from skidding.
