Damit all!!! If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. When I had my TC and tranny installed they overfilled it. Is their a way to take some fluid out without dropping the pan?
Please Advise!!
Thanks,
Shane
  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
I know you're fumed ... but are you positive the tranny is overfilled? Did you check the fluid with the engine running at operating temperature? How far past the full line is the fluid level?
If the tranny is over-filled, call the shop that performed the install and let them know. If you don't feel comfortable going back to them after you talk to them, have another shop correct the fluid level (at a reasonable/fair-market cost)... and send the bill to the installer! Don't carry the burden on your back, you paid good money for that install, and you deserve a job done right!
2001 Kroger\'s shopping cart
MODS-
* disabled locking wheel
* used Flowmaster and some LS1 parts ... I think there\'s an old Bilstein shock in there too.
cmon give me some credit people it says right on the dip stick "engine Idle in park".
It is way overfilled, Im gonna have to say about half over what it should be, and thats after I siphoned some out(BIG PAIN IN THE A$$).
I gave them 10 quarts of redline, and I got none back so I think they put it all in.
How bad is it to over fill the tranny?
Shane
Im assuming you got that tranny back together an installed? If so lemme know how its doing...because Me and my buddy that did the work are really wondering about it being as that UPS busted it up...AS far as the trans being OVER filled...it isnt really all THAT bad although you dont want it over filled and you dont want to consistently over fill it. Just take a 16mm line wrench and loosen one of the trans cooler lines where it goes into the radiator. Preferably the bottom one. Drain some out tighten it back up...and check it. Or like everyone else is saying...take it back to the shop and have them do it. Well lemme know whats going down.
It feels really good. But this dam manifold leak is robbing me of all my power so its hard to get an accurate assesment.
When she shifts in to second it hits pretty hard and all the other shifts are firmed up. I think its fine, just waiting on UPS to inspect the other one so I can get some dam money!
Shane
does an exhaust manifold leak really cause thatmuch powerloss?
