    if i where to buy a drive shaft off a z28 or a ss would i see a perfromance difference or is it just lighter becouse its aluminium [img]smile.gif[/img]

    Well, b/c it is lighter, you should have less rotational mass on the drivetrain and thus lose less hp to the rear wheels. So yes, you should see a performance difference.

      definitely worth it... find one on ebay for $100 or so (prob. more; i just got a really good deal on mine). just be sure it's balanced properly when you stab it in your car. i stuck the weight side on the wrong side and the car sounded like a chewbacca doo-woop group above 20 mph.

        Rallyred 98 i see in youre mods list that you have a 1le driveshaft what year car does that come off of would that fit my 97

          it'll come off any year car with the 1LE performance package. any LS1 car (98+) will have an aluminum 'shaft; that will be an even cheaper way to get aluminum between your yoke and u-joint. the biggest difference is that the 1LE 'shaft is not quite as broad in diameter compared to the LS1 'shaft, but its walls are thicker. there are probably some other minor differences but if you want to know those, just search in the drivetrain group.
