Shirl, Look at your first slip.. you do practically the same until the 1/8th and then your car just DIES. I'm thinking FUEL! What is your fuel PSI? Is your car hitting the limiter on the 2-3? What is your timing and O2's?
Look at your second run, you 60' better but then your car just dies again..
all 3 passes your car gets progressively worse.. somethign is wrong with it.. other than the converter I think.
ALso, you're still not launching the car correctly. You should be able to easily get a 1.7 60' with that verter and your blower alone.

Also could be the efficiency of the converter making her top end die. What efficiency did they give you Shirl? Also, I think Shirl already mentioned that she got the lean condition up top taken care of.

I never had a lean condition, I have a rich condition and yes, that was taken care. The efficiency of the converter is suppose to be 96%, at least that's what Mike at Yank said. I can see this is going to be a bigger problem than I ever imagined... he doesn't even return my phone calls.
I'd suggest Edge as ur next try at a converter. everyone says that they have great customer service, so if they mess up the converter, then u can at least send it back and get ur money back while not goin thru hell. the people who have an Edge converter seem pretty happy w/ the results. yea, everyone will say they're new, but so was PI and Yank at 1 point.

I have been very curious for a while about your fuel set-up.
Do you have an aftermarket pump? Injectors?
What is your fuel pressure at idle and at WOT?
I lost 8 mph and 1 secound in the quarter mile becuase my fmu wasn't working. Not to rule out the converter, but I think its very possible something else may be causing your slower times.
The break in is for the clutches in the converter for when it locks up. As long as she's not hitting 4'th gear in the 1/4, her converter shouldn't be locking up... aside from that there is no break in.
I think Shirls car needs some monitoring by autotap..

Ok, here's my solution: the stock converter will be put back in. I will go to the track to see what it runs. If and when it runs much faster than with this converter from Yank, I will be sending it back to them. I already contacted my credit card company for a dispute. If Yank continues to ignore my phone calls, I will pursue this in court. I know what the car should run. Even if I didn't "flash" the converter, the max I would lose is a few hundredths, not a half second or more. As for "breaking it in", there's no such thing and the trans fluid was full also, so that was not the issue. This converter killed my top end and did nothing to improve my low end. It is inefficient. Thanks for the help or comments everyone. I'll let ya know what happens. I will be going back to the track in 2 weeks.
Shirl, you did the same exact thing before with your previous converter.. the one that was in my car that ran 13.6 NA mind you..
Look at the way your car gets slower and slower each pass..
Do some autotapping and give your converter another shot.. It's not the converter that's killing your big end, it's your HP.
It's hard to help you when you don't take any of our advice.
Your car did worse each pass Shirl... something went wrong, and then even more wrong, and then even more wrong.. a converter just doesn't "break down" like that.
You'll notice the converters results in the 1/8th.. and because you haven't launched correctly yet they arne't that great.. but on the big end.. it's all fueling.
Check the car Shirl, and give the converter one more chance.

I think you all should back off. YOu've all made suggestions but it's coming off pretty strong. She's made up her mind, deal with guys.
Aren't we supposed to be supporting our members? Support means advice when asked for, drop it when it's not. It also doesn't mean telling someone they're doing things wrong.
Good luck Shirl. You know YOUR car better than anyone else. I hope you find the perfect setup and continue to improve on those really impressive times!

We are all just trying to help. Shirl, please take no offense from my replies, my intentions are good..
Craig, Shirl went though a very similar converter experience with her car a few years ago... she sold the converter to me. I put it in my car and didn't gain anything. I figured out how to launch and gained .3 or so. I sent it back to PI and then gained .4 more or so.
Thing is, I've seen shirl go through this before...
But look at her slips, look how the MPH just drops each time, worse and worse.. Granted the last run was without the nitrous (Which supplies its OWN fuel)..
Something else is wrong with the car.. no converter is THAT inefficient, please believe me on this shirl.
Here are my ideas for what is wrong:
Hitting limiter on shifts from looseness
Shifting into 3'rd too soon or even 4'th gear and converter is locking up
Fuel delivery is messed up (CHECK IT!)
Timing is beign pulled
Torque management is kicking in (pulling timing)
How big is your nitrous shot shirl? When you took it off you lost 10MPH.. That tells me that your shot is at 100HP..
With an aftermarket converter you're going to lose some MPH but you should be a heck of a lot quicker ET wise. You will NOT lose, I repeate you will NOT lose 10 mph with an aftermarket converter like your slips show though.
The car needs to be checked.

You know Keith, your starting to get on my nerves. Do you not remember the fact that the first converter was NOT CORRECT for my car EITHER. Did you forget that after I sold it to you, YOU had to SEND IT BACK to be corrected?? This is not a guessing game that I have the time or money to waste on. Maybe you didn't read my post correctly. Let me reitterate: 2 runs on nitrous, one run blower only. I ran the 3rd run on the blower only, because I needed to know whether it REALLY WAS the converter causing the car to slow down.
I posted this to make a point. A poor product with poor customer relations should be looked at by each and EVERY member on this site. If you disaggree with me, then I'd be happy to SELL you this converter for the price I paid ($900) once it's removed. ANY TAKERS??
Anyway, I appreciate the advice in this matter. I've heard enough. Details to follow in a week or two.
About a week ago noticed my brake lights not working also Hazards not working. Installed new brake switch and still not working, checked fuses and what...
