Shirl, the converter stalled low on my car because it wasn't blown like yours.
I do agree though that the customer service issue sucks. You're not the first though and Mike@Yank sure won't change either. He's been like this for quite some time now.
I appologize for getting on your nerves.. Will you be around tonight? Perhaps we can talk about this over the phone.

I'm sure that Mike Senia from Yank will call you back and try to get stuff figured out. He lost his senior guy over winter and I think he is shorthanded but he should call you.
But IMO, you need to Autotap the car and then go over the data with someoone who knows how to interpret it.
I see you just being testy on here, and I don't see you plugging in the Autotap and looking at certain things...
You can put the stock one back in but I would at least take the car out on a back street and look at:
-How high the converter flashes on spray
-Where do your rpms fall after each shift
With bigger converters you typically have to raise the shiftpoints, did you know that. We see that all the time with the LS1 cars, perhaps the pcm now reads different load numbers or something. If you lose big mph either your car is messed up or you need to address one or two points. Also if you didn't install the converter properly and add enough fluid it can get fried.
I would not blame the converter, I would look at shift points, maybe your car is shifting like 500 rpms to low or something.
I'd also autotap and look at your WOT 02's, 900 is good, and anything below 850 would concern me.
I read your magazine article a few years ago, and I was impressed. It also said you were a teacher. I'd keep an open mind and listen to other folks opinions, life is about learning.
Also, I think Keith made his point and then some, but he's only trying to help. If you don't understand how torque converters, power bands, and shift points all relate to each other then just ASK.
ok, believe me, I'm taking everything into consideration and all of the advice is greatly appreciated, believe me. I'm testy because I am still dealing with Coan too. They are the ones who sent me a converter for a 350 and then had the nerve to charge me a restocking and shipping fee for their mistake. So, basically, right now, I'm out over $1,000 until everything's taken care of. And Keith, I should be around later after 6. I'll email you my cell #.
Shirl, call coan and ask for Kevin Coan, the owner. Use your web presence, the fact that you have a 12 sec blown and nitroused V6 and also that you had a full spread in a magazine, to scare him if he gives you a hard time.
Let us know how that goes.

I emailed Dave at Coan last night and basically said that I want this matter resolved or further action will be taken. I followed up with a phone call to him today and he asked "what do you mean by further action?" I then told him, I will take them to small claims court if my account is not credited for their mistake. He then said he would credit the restocking fee but not the shipping. I didn't argue over it (even though their error has cost me labor fees too). I will be checking my account over the next few days to make sure that it is credited.
As for Yank, they have not returned my call as of yet. I left a message on Tuesday morning. I will call them again this afternoon.
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
