I've got the Centerforce Dual Friction in my car now. I don't like it at all. As far as clutch pedal feel and how it grabs on motor it's nice, but it won't hold the 100 shot of nitrous i'm runnin when it's advertised to hold 90% more than stock. If i had to do it over again, i would put in a SPEC stage 3. Just my opinion.
About two years ago, I decided to get a new clutch. The people at Centerforce told me to get the Centerforce Stage One clutch. I HATED IT!! It was way to soft more my driving style.
A few months ago, I had my synchronizers changed. I had the Centerforce Dual Friction put in at the same time. I LOVE THE DUAL FRICTION!! It has a firm engagement know matter which RPM I shift at.
Whatever company you decide, DON'T get a stage one.
I am going with the Spec Stage III myself. The stock clutch is beginning to slip and make noise. I am hoping sometime within a month or so.
The Spec stage III is used by many LS1 owners in this area. So I've been able to get in their car, feel it for myself, and it is ever so slightly stiffer. More so up front when its new, but after break-in, its not that far off from stock. And it will hold in excess of 600 horsepower. So it oughta be awesome behind a 200-horse V6.
<b>15.41</b> @ 89.80 & 15.45 @ <b>91.64</b>, 2.21 60ft, 3,440 raceweight, using <b>OEM</b> Equipment. <br />\'98 L67/M49 w/ 134,000 miles before spun bearing. \"<i>It\'s all stock, Baby</i>!\"
I got the SPEC Stage 3 also...AND LOVE IT! It will chatter for the first about 300 miles, don't rag on it in that period, just baby it. By chatter, for those who don't know, it tries to bite your flywheel so hard that it kind of skids on it and tries to bounce, kind of like wheel hop. Take offs are not pleasant for the first 300 miles. But I got through the break in, and sprayed the 100 shot at the track on it, with NO problems at all, no slipping at all. LS1 owners have for a long time loved this clutch also. GET THE SPEC STAGE 3!
