    2002 W68 Firebird

    Hey Guys,

I was just wondering. Sometimes when I shift back into Drive out of neutral the tranny takes a while to lock back in. Is this just the way our tranny's work? Or is it meant to neutral slam it? IDK I thought that wrecked the transmission. Anyway any replies are apprieciated.

    Thanks

    Rob

The 4L60E just takes a little time for everything to engage. If you don't like this, the transgo shift kit claims to Fixes engagement delay/bang. I believe you can also fix it by having part of the gear selection valve ground down a bit.

Neutral drops WILL wreck your transmission.
