how to shorten a pro 5.0 stick?

Has anyone cut some of the threads of the pro 5.0 stick to make the throws shorter?

if so how did you keep the thread patern from getting messed up?

Get a nut that will fit over the threads and screw it up to a point that you want to cut below it. After you cut it unscrew the nut and any burs that are made will come off
