Check your RPO codes on the door to see what gear ratio you have first. GU4 is 3.08, GU5 is 3.23, GU6 is 3.42, & G80 would indicate that you have a limited-slip differential. Alot of people with higher gears like to upgrade to either a 3.42 or 3.73, depending upon which transmission they have & what type of driving they do.

If you have he Y87 package like it says in your sig then you have 3.42s with a limited slip differential.

cool thx, yeah its y87, i thought it was 3.42 but i wasnt sure...then theres really no need to upgrade them since thats where i want em anyway, i'm not really a gear-head like a lot of the guys here, unfortunatly i dont have the time for that, one of the many things i wish i could do but cant right now....whats the LSD actually mean? i dont know if the posi rear has anything to do with that or not

I limited slip differential puts some power to the other wheel if the power wheel is slipping. Great for getting good starts and really helps in the snow.

Posi traction and limited slip differential are usually used to mean the same thing. Technically there are differences but are so close it doesn't usually matter which term you use unless you are in a technical discussion.
