I'm looking into getting a driveshaft for my bird, but i really don't know the where to start looking. Is it something I could install myself or should I just have someone do it for me? Are the shafts different for 3.8's and 3.4's? Thanx

I bought an aluminum driveshaft from Lingenfelter on ebay for $150. I would recomend looking there first.

I went from steel 2-piece to an LS1 driveshaft. $150 from www.speedautomotive.com I saw a gain of .2 in the 1/4 mile with it. Install is easy if you are swapping from a 1-piece; the bracket that holds the middle up on the 2-piece is a little hard to get to, though.

I've decided to go with the aluminum. There are enough of them out there for around 100-150$ used that it's worth it.

                        Thanks for the feedback guys.

                            Question,

I'm going to replace my rear end this christmas, and was wondering how easy it is to replace the stock 2 piece to the aluminum one? Are there any pages detailing this? Thanks!

I bought a steel one off of here from a fellow board member. In addition to it being lighter if you have a car with a 2 peice driveshaft I think that you loose a lot of power transfer with that little joint being there (sorry if im wrong thats just how i feel). As far as numbers go I gained a few mph on my trap speed. I can definatley feel a little difference in the topend, from 70+.
