  • how much money and labor is involved in this..?

    im thinking about going to a junkyard and pulling out the rear end of an older z28/SS and putting that on my 96 camaro RS.


    what would i have to do in order to make this work right? wouldnt i have to change the break likes and whatnot? its not just plug and play is it?

    i need help cause i really want these 3.42 gears and LSD.

    wait a min. only the automatics came with 3.42's right? or did the 6spd's also come with 3.42?

    i also heard that i have to find one without the 2nd gear start crap..argh, this is gonna be a challenge..

    please help guys

    Emergency break line is the only thing you'll need to replace if you're getting disks in the rear. 2nd gear start has nothing to do with the rear end.

      Also to my knowledge, only the manuals came with a 3.42 end. The autos came with a 2.73 end.

        but what about labor? would i be able to do this with just a simple tool kit? im 17 and know somewhat about rear ends... you think this is possible?

            Only the 6spd came with the 3.42s but the A4 came with 3.23s and 2.73
