Spec is definitely working well - no more slip, no chatter, smooth engagement and positive grip. It is less harsh than stock even but somehow grips better - go figure?! I love it though.

Now, I have my stock clutch, should i just throw it away?

Cool, maybe I'll get mine installed sometime. I'm jobless right now, so it's still on hold. :( I'm going to go ahead and get the slave cylinder when I get back to working again. Good to hear it's doing great. Can't wait until I get mine installed. Did you install yours yourself, or did you have someone install it for you?

        Thanks,
        Jeff

            are you kidding me????
ive heard nothing but bad things about centerforce when they have any amount of power thrown at them. I will be going with a Spec stage 4 after i get my turbo

I got a SPEC stage III about two years ago and it just gave up today. A piece of the disk broke away allowing a set of the springs in the disk to come out and fly around in the bell housing. I think it's pretty pathetic that it couldn't hold up. I've seen a Z28 guy with a stage II with the exact same failure. Could it be a flaw? I'm going to ask SPEC about it.

And if I have to buy another clutch I'm going with a SPEC Stage 4...it doesn't have the springs in the disk.

I've already burned up stock clutches and a centerforce dual friction so the SPEC clutches are my only option for a turbocharged 3.4L.

The stage 4 isn't good for "street" driving. the springs help the clutch engage( so to speak). Without the springs , the clutch is either completely engaged or not. I have a spec stage 3 clutch and it pushes the upper limit on being daily drivable, as in stop and go traffic. I wouldn't go any higher unless you plan to only race.

i was thinking about a stage 5 for after turbo, but it says "not intended for street use" so im gonna go with a stage 4...just be glad we have hydraulic clutches, a friend of mine's daily driven mustang GT runs a stage 3 on his mechanical clutch...talk about a stiff pedal

I spoke with SPEC directly and they said there's no difference btwn the pedal feel btwn the stage 3 and stage 4. He also said the absence of those springs in the hub for the stage 4 will just make it have more clutch chatter(which my stage 3 already had a lot of). The springs in the stage 3 just act to dampen that chatter.

I ordered a stage 4 and it should be here today or tomorrow. I'm done w/ sprung/dampened hubs...I can deal w/ chatter.
