Ok, heres the problem It wont shift into gear when started. but does when its off. When its started in gear it either dies or spins the wheels. the clutch pedel is a little lower then the brake pedel. and i cant go into gear when its on...and reverse is the only open gear but it wont fully go into it alls it does is scratch. Any ideas. its just an OEM clutch, with a turned flywheel.

Clutch isn't disengaging. Could be master/slave cylinder, fluid, or could be the clutch itself. How does the clutch pedal feel when you try to disengage it?Matt

1. What did you replace? Just the clutch?
2. Any idea how much was taken off the flywheel?
It sounds as if the slave cyl is toast, or something was not put back together right.Keith - 99 'maro - White M5 - bumpstick and boltons - 13.65 @ 101 N/A

The slave cyl in mounted to the tranny inside the bell-housing. It hydrolicly pushes the pressure plate fingers(well there is a throwout bearing between in and the pp), to disengage the clutch.
Oh, and a tranny shop told me I would save myself 200 bones if I pulled my tranny for them to rebuild.... So maybe that helps you guestimate the cost to pay someone to do it.Keith - 99 'maro - White M5 - bumpstick and boltons - 13.65 @ 101 N/A

UPDATE!! i have taken the tranny off again to see what the heck was going on, my new resurfaced flywheel and brand new pressure plate show slight burns, and the clutch itself is slighty worn towards the inside of the circle. more heavy burns on the flywheel though, very slight on the pressure plate. i have bought a spacer to push the flywheel out more, do you think that would help?? 4/5 tranny shops said it was resurfaced to much, and i need a spacer put in...so im really confused..please any advice will be accepted...

If too much was taken off the flywheel the clutch will slip and/or possibly not engage. That is why I asked if you knew how much was removed from it. Not much can be taken off. I want to say its(the limit) either .015 or .020. After which you either need a spacer or a new flywheel.Keith - 99 'maro - White M5 - bumpstick and boltons - 13.65 @ 101 N/A

Get a new flywheel, I got mine for 110$ out the door, decided extra material was better since I upgraded to a spec 3 clutch. Thats my cost from the dealer.255/50R16 Tires, Pioneer Deck, Pioneer 4 Way speakers, PPI Amps, JL subs, Spec Stage 3 Clutch, Optima Yellow Top
