  • Replace Driveshaft to 1LE While Swapping the Rear End?

I will be swapping out rear ends in my car in two weeks and figure since it's all out I should maybe pick up a 1LE driveshaft. Any thoughts on this? Ever says it is a great mod, but what makes it so great compared to the stock one I have?
    Thanks

    Another quick question...
On the LS1 cars they use the aluminum driveshaft? Is it the 1LE? What's the difference between the two?

there's this thread. and stock most Z28/SS cars come with a steel one piece unit, while the 1LE optioned cares come with a package of 1LE which includes the aluminum drive shaft.

LS1 powered cars come with aluminum driveshafts. Just get on off that.

The LS1 driveshaft is not a 1LE driveshaft. The LS1 driveshaft is 3" in diameter while the 1LE is 2.75" in diameter.

Has the issue of clearance between 3" LS1 driveshafts and 3" exhaust ever been put to rest? I remember some said it would conflict and others have said it would not.

I guess since there is a 3.5" driveshaft for LS1's which would probably also have at least a 3" exhaust on it there aren't any clearance issues.
